With the theme of “Pluriversal Cultures and Common Crisis”, the symposium aims to explore the cultural significance of social innovation and social innovation from different cultural perspectives. The symposium showcased the actions and reflections of domestic and international scholars, reflecting the mission and commitment of domestic and international experts and scholars to nature and society.
In particular, Associate Professor Francesca Valsecchi gave a keynote speech entitled ‘The Culture of Nature: the Next Frontier of Sustainability Challenge is Ecological Awareness’, reflecting on the impact of design artefacts interfering with the natural world and calling on designers to rethink the practice of design from the perspective of natural ecology and natural culture, combining human social culture with natural culture.
Francesca Valsecchi also participated a following roundtable discussion on the theme of “Chinese Context and Cultural Reflection”. Participants discussed in depth the meaning and path of cultural innovation for sustainable development on topics such as rural revitalisation, design education and cultural integration.
