With the theme of “2030 Design Action: Sustainable Development for Our Future Society”, the conference invited experts and scholars from China, Germany, UK and Italy to discuss the history and development, methods and approaches, practices and reflections of design-driven sustainable social innovation, from three topics: “Perspectives and Dimensions, Actions and Practices, Education and Reflections”.
In particular, Associate Professor Francesca Valsecchi, head of our lab, gave a speech on ‘Ecological Awareness as the Next Frontier of Sustainability’. She called on designers to stand in the perspective of natural ecology and natural culture, to combine social culture with natural culture, to rethink the relationship between human beings and the natural environment, to change from a human-centred design perspective to a nature-centred design perspective, to seek a harmonious coexistence between human beings and nature, and to seek a more long-term development of human beings.
